Fashion Friday: Lupita Nyong'o x Vogue, Adrien Sauvage In London Collections + More

This week in fashion, the UK was booming with great looks from the London Collections: Men. It has been exciting to witness the frenzy of people clamoring to see some of the most exciting menswear at fashion week. However, it needs to be said that the looks this go-round are a bit over the top and the fashion is not as easily accessible as it has been in the past. An exception to that rule (and all rules) is trendsetter Adrien Sauvage, one of our favorite designers. He has the talent and vision to create clothing that is modern, cool and edgy, but still wearable. For Spring/Summer 15, he presented the perfect set of pieces, blending high fashion and Congolese printed stamps on shirts and sweatshirts with bold patterns. The long black motorcycle jacket was an especially exciting highlight.

Speaking of fashion week and haute couture,Vogue recently presented their July 14 cover featuring Mexican-born/Kenyan-raised actress Lupita Nyong'o. As the magazine stated:

In little more than a year, Lupita Nyong’o has made the leap from serious student to Oscar-winning actress and head-turning fashion star.

Indeed, her name is on every lip and she's been gracing the beauty and fashion worlds with her stunning features. In her interview with the renowned fashion publication, she said:

It just feels like the entertainment industry exploded into my life. People who seemed so distant all of a sudden were right in front of me and recognizing me -- before I recognized them!

We wish her the best in her future projects, including Star Wars Episode VII and the adaptation of the critically acclaimed novel Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, which Nyong'o will produce and star in. In the meantime, check out her interview and see a full photo spread from photographer Mikael Jansson via Vogue Magazine.

While the World Cup 2014 is in the full swing, adidas Originals teamed up for the second time with Brazilian label The Farm Company to deliver their Fall/ Winter 14 collection. This time around, they designed 4 different prints for a sporty womenswear line.  Meanwhile, American label G-Star unveiled their Fall/Winter 14 collection, entitled RAW for the Oceans, in parternship with Bionic Yarn, The Vortex Project, Parley for the Oceans and administrator Pharrell Williams. The collection is all made from Bionic Yarm, an eco-friendly fiber made from recycled plastics bottles that have been broken down and woven into durable textiles. The result is a great initiative that fits G-Star's signature style and still manages to make being environmentally conscious a top priority.
