Hear Madlib's Dusty New Cut "Trouble Knows Me" feat. Future Island's Sam Herring
Just a few days back, Madlib announced that he'd be letting loose a limited pressing of a new EP with a mystery rapper that would be bought and sold at his show at Chicago's Midway tonight. Well, dear friends, today is that day and we now have a dusty new track from the enigmatic musical madman. "Trouble Knows Me" reveals that MC to be Future Island's part-time rapper Sam Herring, who sharpened his chops on Gangrene and Earl Sweatshirt's "Play It Cool" for the GTA V compilation Welcome To Los Santos in March. And truth be told, the kid's got bars, riding over the supremely funky, vintage-set chop that'll have you catching all of the vibes on this fine Friday morning and well into the evening's smoke sessions.
"Trouble Knows Me" is the lead-off track from the EP, which will be officially released on September 1st, but if you happen to be in the Windy City, you'll be able to cop tonight or tomorrow at the Rappcats pop-shop in LA (1-4pm at 5636 York Blvd.) Put your feet up and bless the air with Madlib & Sam Herrings "Trouble Knows Me" below.
