Major Lazer & Ezra Koenig Tell The Tale Of The "Vegan Vampire" + Watch The Intro To Their Upcoming Cartoon Series

Major Lazer, whether Diplo's animated alter-ego or a legitimate creative presence in the new-dancehall pioneering mind of his, has long deserved his own Saturday morning treatment. Luckily the gods have answered those prayers of wake-and-bake perfection with a slot on FXX's late-night animated segment, bringing to life all of the fantastic characters that have been conjured up in the ML mythos. One character in particular would be that of the Vegan Vampire AKA Ryland, once voiced by Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig in the original mock-up of the show for Adult Swim back in 2011. While the pioneering animated network had other plans (refocusing its light on the misadventures and origins of the mystical Captain Murphy instead of giving the Major and his misunderstood vegan friend their shine) FXX is poised to pick up right where they left off, breathing new life into project, which will likely prove to be a damn good choice. And even though there hasn't been a firm premiere date for the show, you won't have to wait all that long to hear the tale of the "Vegan Vampire" as a raw and unfinished gem surfaced last night with Koenig manning the vocal duties. Put your ears to Major Lazer's latest leak "Vegan Vampire" and watch the intense intro to the animated series down below. Keep it locked, as we'll be sure to bring you all the dates when they roll out.
