Mary J. Blige has shared a touching tribute to Andre Harrell following his death on Thursday (May 7) from heart failure.
On Monday (May 11), the singer posted an archived video interview where Harrell, alongside Blige, discusses how he watched her grow into an artist.
"I watched Mary grow from a young woman into a real lady," Harrell said. "...Mary is becoming a full-fledged artist, and I'm proud of her...Mary J. Blige all comes from her feelings, and I think that gives her the confidence to know, like, 'I'm Mary J. Blige.'"
"I don't know where I would be if you didn't believe in me," Blige wrote in a caption alongside the video. "This can't be real. Thank you for helping me and loving me until the last days of your life. Rest easy my musical father. I will continue to do my very best to make you proud and continue to find joy and inspiration in your life and legacy."
On Monday, Diddy also shared a tribute to Harrell.
