Matthew Law Buzzfeed DJ Problems
It's hard out here for a DJ. Okayplayer friend and confidant Matthew Law (Fka DJ Phsh) helped to demonstrate that fact in BuzzFeed's recent video, dedicated to the "11 Problems DJs Know Too Well."
From start to finish the BuzzFeed clip highlights some of the worst behavior that DJs of all genres and statures encounter. In there are issues such as being asked to DJ animal weddings, attempted bookings for years down the road, the playlist-maker who's convinced he can handle turntable decks and a heartbroken soul who just needs a sound selector to lean on.
Later in the video we see Law dodge dancers hell-bent on requesting their favorite track, as well as the inevitable "You know I got that mixtape" self-promoter. It's a well-made send-up of just some of the hurdles that DJs bound over every day in the name of bringing music to the masses, and is not at all fictitious in its portrayal of Law as a cool-headed performer. His Friends & Fam party has become a regular fixture of the Philadelphia dance scene and is an absolute must-visit for PA locals and East Coast travelers alike.
