First Lady Michelle Obama Has Made A Rap Video With 'SNL' Star Jay Pharoah
Not 24 hours after the world learned that there's plenty of hip-hop happening in the White House, First Lady Michelle Obama is out here dropping bars. Partnering with Saturday Night Live cast member Jay Pharoah, Ms. Obama guest stars in a new College Humor music video that encourages America's youth to keep on educating themselves and go to college, and when the time is ripe she comes correct with a couple of nice rhymes.
Pharoah kicks off the video, asking younger listeners what they expect to do with their future before steering them straight toward college. Michelle Obama quickly takes control, however, and reps her hood. "South side Chicago, we all know / We had to do overtime every night to make it tomorrow / And everyone could really make their dream true / Hey kid listening in Michigan that could be you."
The new video is part of the First Lady's new Better Make Room campaign, a multimedia push to inspire a renewed, proactive interest in college amongst the youth of America. It's also already inspired a twitter trend of #FlotusBars, which makes perfect sense.
