Miguel popped up on stage during Carlos Santana's set in in Guadalajara, Mexico to perform their satiny blues ballad "Indy" off the guitar hero's latest album Corazon. The meeting of contemporary r&b giant and six-string maestro is masterful one, commencing with a gentle riff from Santana, before Miguel takes to the stage (mic-stand slung across his back) to deliver one of his finest vocal performances to date. All the while, a lush accompaniment from Santana's immense ensemble provides a proper backbone for this sweat-soaked number.
The video provides us with our first look at Santana's upcoming Corazon : Live It To Believe It DVD, which hits stores September 9th and is available to preorder via Amazon today. If the performance plays out to be as diverse as the list of collaborations on the album, there's plenty to look forward to with guest spots from the legendary Wayne Shorter, Gloria Estefan, Ziggy Marley, (his wife) Cindy Blackman and more. It will also see a premiere on HBO on September 15th, so brace yourself for a display of finely tuned musicianship and barn-burning blues licks. Get a taste of that smokey soul and watch Miguel perform "Indy" alongside the guitar gawd below.
