This week's Mixtape Mondays features a Red Bull Music Academy mix from Kriswontwo, an X-mas themed compilation from longtime Okayplayer AllyAl, soulful selections from Ta-Ku, and--of course--a carefully crafted tribute to Nelson Mandela mixed by Gilles Peterson. Click through for streams and downloads. Enjoy!
Kriswontwo is an incredibly talented producer (and homie) from Copenhagen. He was lucky enough to recently record an EP alongside OKP favorite Georgia Anne Muldrow. He placed a preview of their collaboration (which will be released next year on GAM & hubby Dudley Perkins' Someothaship imprint) in a brand new mix for Red Bull Studios. Included are remixes of Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and many other luminaries. Check the tracklist below and hit the link below to head over to to stream his mix.

Ta-Ku has dropped a brand new mix for the hipsters at Hype Trak titled Drive Slow, Homie Part Two. Here's what T-K had to say about it:
"After all the love from "Drive Slow, Homie" I just HAD to make another musical journey for your whip.In usual fashion, the mix starts of with some laid back - top down jams that are perfect for your sundown. Slowly moving into the uptempo soul jams mixed with the never disapointing jersey movement. To be honest, i encourage you to bump this on ALL occasions. You could bump this mix while taking your moms to the dentist or while you and your homies/homegirls are trappin' out in your hatchback Barina.
Whether you riding solo or with a whip full of your peoples. TURN UP!"

In case you missed it, we rewind on this essential post from the other day because Mixtape Monday would not be complete if we didn't include Gilles Peterson's moving tribute to Nelson Mandela. Peterson compiled 15 songs, including Miles Davis, Gil Scott-Heron, and Hugh Masakela to name a few, that reflect South Africa and the life of Mandela. Listen to the mix below. RIP Madiba.
