Source: TMZ
Martin Luther King Jr.'s youngest son, Dexter King, offered his thoughts on Donald Trump terminating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
Following the announcement of DACA's termination, Trump spoke with administration officials and congressional leaders Tuesday, where he said he has a "great love" for the young immigrants protected by the program and hopes that "Congress will be able to help them and do it properly."

TMZ asked King's thoughts on Trump's statement, with the former responding with the following:
It's hard to question somebody's — what's in their heart or mind. I can only take him at his word and hopefully his actions that he'll encourage Congress and also sign whatever legislation that comes out to deal with this crisis. I think we have to take him at his word, initially. I think you should give people the benefit of the doubt and then if they don't follow through, then you have something to say. You can say at that point, 'You didn’t keep your word.' But until that happens, you really have to give them the benefit of the doubt.
The 56-year-old King is the second and youngest son of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.
Although King feels as if people should give Trump the benefit of the doubt many are outraged at his decision to end DACA. Obama responded to the program's end shortly after it was confirmed, taking to Facebook to say:
…Ultimately, this is about basic decency. This is about whether we are a people who kick hopeful young strivers out of America, or whether we treat them the way we’d want our own kids to be treated. It’s about who we are as a people – and who we want to be.
