Bear Witness To The Rise Of James Brown & Stream 'Mr. Dynamite' In Its Entirety
For those that may have missed the opportunity to see what (is in my opinion) the definitive James Brown chronicle that arrived in the form of the long-anticipated Mr: Dynamite on HBO a few weeks back, today may very well be your day. We've unearthed a full stream of the wholly comprehensive documentary from deep within the interwebz to give y'all a chance to get learned in the ways of the hardest-working man in show business. It comes complete with appearances from virtually every player in The JBs, Bobby Byrd, our own JB-afficionado and funk archivist Questlove, The Godfather's longtime tour manager Alan Leeds, bass-gawd Bootsy Collins and...so many more. Not all of them have nice things to say about the legend, drawing a bold line between the electric performer and his (sometimes overbearing, even violent) command of the ensemble, no matter how many or few players he had in tow. From the sticks of South Carolina to the prisons of Augusta, Georgia and on to being the most high-voltage performer of the century, this thing's got it all. Watch Mr. Dynamite: The Rise Of James Brown in its entirety down below and if you need a little supplemental reading, come through our extensive interview with legend of the road Alan Leeds.
