Mr. Green Taps Freddie Gibbs, Chill Moody & Apollo The Great In New "Clap" Posse Cut Video
If you only know Mr. Green from your younger Clue-playing days, then now's the time to get your mind right. The free-thinking producer frequently takes to the the streets of American cities to tape buskers, traffic clatters, transit tones and just about anything that makes the up sounds of urban life, before those taking field recordings back to his home studio and construct a brand new hip-hop beat. Green's technique has proven wildly successful, and he's turned the process into a standalone album--Live From The Streets is set to drop in early April.
And now we've been gifted a taste of what's to come on Mr. Green's full-length. A new video for "Clap" has just dropped, and it features MCs Freddie Gibbs, Chill Moody and Apollo The Great all going in hard over a moody production that Green crafted out of pan flute buskers, hand claps and some classic MPC drums. Full of top-notch bars from all three rappers, the track is equal parts hard and harmonious, a blend of street bars and an almost tropical instrumental vibe. We last heard from Mr. Green on his Malik B collaboration "Metal Is Out," and can't wait for this new compilation project to hit the digital shelves.
