Muhsinah Follows The 2011 Release Of Her 'Gone' EP With The Brand New 'M' EP.
Muhsinah follows the 2011 release of the Gone EP with a stream of her brand new M EP, which premiered this week via Complex. The long-awaited compilation features four emotionally charged tracks recorded in complete solitude. The candid, cathartic tone suggests these joints were not simply recorded to entertain the fans. The bottom-heavy synth-driven production compliments the weight of the lyrics, even at its brightest. When asked about her absence and its impact on the project, Muhsinah responded with the following:
“I have a theory that all artists need time off to live so that they have something to write about. We all need that time in order to grow, in order to fail, in order to completely make asses of ourselves,” Muhsinah said in an email. "M is Muhsinah. It stands for my many moods—it’s a sonic mood ring really. But most of all it’s me.”
