NaS x Maxwell Announce Valentine's Day Show At Barclays Center + New LP Details
Can you believe that it's already been almost seven years since Maxwell dropped BLACKsummers'night? Yeah, neither can we. But it's definitely 2016 now, and the world's definitely in need of some new sounds from the Brooklyn-bred soul-smith. And though the wait has certainly been a long one, a new interview with Essence finds Maxwell in rarely-candid form, discussing his long-awaited follow-up to BLACKsummers'night, revealing that it was originally intended as a three-part soul epic with this next installment serving as a sequel to the last. Maxwell bears it all, really, touching on how he almost lost himself in the recording process and even clues us into his next step: crafting the soundtrack to Nate Parker's Sundance-conquering film, Birth Of A Nation. All of this is to say, that Maxwell appears to have plenty in store for us in 2016. Actually, this very week, singer will take his talents to a very fitting stage at the Barclay's in Brooklyn, where he'll rock with The King Of Queens, Nas, on Valentines Day.
