With a historic Sundance run in its wake, Nate Parker's The Birth Of A Nation, a film that follows arch of Nat Turner's rebellion, is already on its way to infamy. The Birth Of A Nation is the culminating effort of hundreds of thousands of Parker's personal dollars and nearly a decade of a writing and production, not to mention, millions in private investments from the likes of NBA stars Tony Parker and Michael Finley, which of course, paid off when Fox Searchlight won the international distribution rights to the film in a historic bidding war, that found Fox shelling out 17.5 million over the Netlfix's 20 million. Today, the film's very first official trailer has surfaced, finally granting us a glimpse into Parker's anxiously-anticipated, self-directed, self-written and self-starring cinematic treatment, looking every bit as riveting as we had hoped, with principal photography being our only lead up until the trailer's release.
