Wyatt Cenac's 'People Of Earth' Gets The Green Light From TBS
The Daily Show vet and resident Brooklynite Wyatt Cenac appears to be hard at work these days. Recently he filmed the new special Night Train with the gamut of local comedic legends like Jo Firestone, Janeane Garofalo, Eugene Mirman andHari Kondabolu, but in 2016, Cenac will be jumping back on to your TV screen with yet another motley crew of funnymen and women on a long-rumored, now confirmed new series.
According to Variety, TBS has picked up the show People Of Earth (FKA The Group,) ordering a 10-episode season that will star Cenac, Anna Gasteyer and Oscar Nunez amongst others, revolving around a support group for alien abductees, with Cenac playing a skeptical journalist attempting to debunk their tales of probings and crop circles. The show will be directed by Greg Daniels, whose past credits include Parks & Recreation, The Office, King Of The Hill and The Simpsons just to name a few. Needless to say, the force is with this one. No date has been announced for the show just yet, but you can be sure we'll have an update on Wyatt Cenac's reentry into the TV cosmos as they hit the web.
