Nicki Minaj Makes Amends With Joe Budden on His Podcast and Lists Her Top 5 Rappers

The emcee also addressed her tension with Rick Ross, rumors surrounding her Cardi collab on "MotorSport," gatekeepers, and more.

Fresh off a heated discussion at Apple Music's "Queen Radio," Nicki Minaj stopped by Spotify's "The Joe Budden Podcast" Tuesday (August 13).

The rappers made amends after getting into it over a number of topics on her show. Before Minaj continued the conversation, addressing other moments of tension between her and other artists, she was asked to list her Top 5 greatest rappers.

"Definitely Wayne, Jay... Biggie," she responded.

She continued, "It's weird for me. I'm one of those people that do like people that may not be as big as Hov or whatever but I can tell their skill. Like Jadakiss— I always talk about — or Fab. You're one of them as well," she said, including Joe in that latter list.

Minaj also said she considers herself to be Top 10 greatest rappers, dead or alive.

When asked if Rick Ross was a better rapper than Game, Minaj responded, "Anybody that name drops a female to sell 250 albums, don't ever bring them up to me again."

The comment addressed her tension with Ross after he mentioned her in his 2017 song, "Apple of My Eye,” saying "I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki/Instead of beefin’ with your dog, you just give ’em some distance.”

"When a grown-ass fucking man name-drops a woman to sell an album when I was the only one in his corner when everyone turned their back on them when everyone was calling them ‘Twitter-fingers’ and cracking up laughing at them?" she said, alluding to the line.

Minaj also refuted Budden's claim that she did not know that Cardi would be on the track with her, saying, "You and him [DJ Akademiks] were the first to start the narrative."

The top five conversation starts close to the 33-minute mark.
