The investigation was not publicized by the city and continues in the wake of the killing. The report suggests it raises the possibility that the city will take action against the rapper’s remaining business partners.
The report reveals authorities put pressure on Hussle’s former landlords to evict his Marathon Clothing store. The landlords went on to sell the entire strip mall to him and a group of investors for $2.5 million. The Times states the LAPD declined to comment on the investigation but stated that police were still working with Hussle’s associates to cut crime in the neighborhood.
