N.W.A.'s "Straight Outta Compton" Video Gets A GTA 5 Remake
Amidst a crush of praise and strong box office numbers for Straight Outta Compton, a new video recreating the classic N.W.A. music video for that very song has made its way online. This one's not quite what you might expect though: it's entire video game footage.
Using clips from Grand Theft Augo V, the new four minute clip was created by video artist AnimalRobot and is surely one of the most creative uses of a tricked-out graphics card that we've ever seen. Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E and the rest of the crew are all clearly reproduced in polygonal form, as are many of the hyperkinetic alleys and streets of Compton itself. It was only a few short weeks ago that we were enjoying a GTA rendition of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme, but this is something even more impressive, we must say.
And in a way, the Los Santos/Los Angeles connection amkes perfect sense. folks at Complex report that the GTA V character Lance "Ryder" Wilson, was based off of Eazy-E. Watch the new GTA V version of "Straight Outta Compton" below, and then, just for reference, catch the original after after the jump.
