World Premiere: Omar — 'The Man' [Full Album Stream]
In case you did not receive the memo--Omar is back. One of the most influential figures in soul music--leave out UK soul--the so-called Father of British Neo-Soul has returned to the world of music after a 7-year hiatus--an eternity to serious music heads--which included a new role as Father Of Twin Daughters (not to mention a move into acting). We've had some sneak previews of Omar's new record The Man, including a collaboration with his longtime soul sister Caron Wheeler, a reprise of his 1990 classic "Nothing Like This" with frequent D'Angelo collaborator Pino Palladino on bass, and a gripful of other stirring new compositions. But Okayplayer is extremely proud to play to host the record's official World Premiere--a full, unedited album stream in advance of the release to stores next Tuesday, June 25th. Without further ado, listen below and hit the links to pre-order and get the back-story of the new LP and the many dimensions of Omar with our exclusive Okayplayer Interview.
