A New Tupac + Biggie T.V. Show Is In The Works
The folks at USA Network revealed that a new television series based on Tupac Amaru Shakur a.k.a. 2Pac a.k.a. Makaveli and Christopher George Latore Wallace a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. a.k.a. Biggie Smalls is on the way. USA ordered a pilot of what will be called Unsolved, which will be directed by Anthony Hemingway of The People v. O.J. Simpson and written by Kyle Long of Suits. Unsolved will follow the story of former LAPD detective Greg Kading as he investigates the murders. Kading even wrote a book on the subject titled Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations. Kading has also signed on to be a consultant for the show. The murders of Tupac and Biggie have yet to be solved though Kading, in his book, has implicated Sean Combs and Suge Knight.
USA described Unsolved as, "a scripted true crime serial that chronicles the two major police investigations into the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur (2Pac) and Notorious B.I.G."
A Tupac biopic called All Eyez On Me, named after the late rapper's 1996 album, has an expected release date of late 2017. Director John Singleton recently made comments disparaging the film, saying "I know that they f**ked it up so I’m not even trying to give it any attention.”
