Watch The Trailer For Lifetime's Michael Jackson Biopic 'Searching For Neverland'
At the top of the year, Lifetime announced that they'd developed a biopic based on a book written by Michael Jackson's bodyguards, Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard. Their book, Remember The Time: Protecting Michael Jackson In His Final Days, detailed the final years of Jackson's life, falling back into seclusion in the wake of his 2005 sexual molestation trial, up until his 2009 death of an overdose, administered by his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray.
Today, Lifetime has shared the first official trailer for their adaptation, Searching For Neverland, starring famed Jackson impersonator, Navi, along with The Walking Dead's Chad L. Coleman as Whitfield. The story appears to be told from the perspective of the bodyguards, who stayed by Jackon's side through the controversy the plagued his last years. Searching For Neverland is the latest in Lifetime's onslaught of biopic treatments nobody asked for; following films on Brittany Murphy, Anna Nicole Smith, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston and their latest, Britney Spears.
Searching For Neverland is slated to premiere on Memorial Day, May 29th. Watch the official trailer for Lifetime's Michael Jackson biopic below and hold tight for the internet's imminent outrage.
