Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Pharoahe Monch breaks down the methodology behind his creative process during an in-studio interview at NYC's Chung King Studios with Peter Rosenberg for The Process on Complex TV. The Queens MC with the legendary flow talks not only about writing and the foundation of his lyricism which is based in the nuance of rhythm, but also about the complexities of that rhythm and the ways in which he is able to take advantage of the negative spaces within the beat. He also talks about his approach to subject matter and his penchant for researching the sounds sampled in the beats he chooses in order to show the original tracks their proper respect. Pharoahe Monch discusses his need to remain genuine in his lyrics and acknowledges that though the public has a general idea of what the creative process is like for rappers, the get high and freestyle path is not the process for every rapper.
