Pharrell follows a recent haul at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards and the continued reign of "Happy" - his infectious theme from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack - with the official video for "Perpetual Nights" from his protégé Maxine Ashley. The shape-shifting footage directed by Lady Tragik throws a healthy nod to La Nouvelle Vague with scenes from Jean-Luc Godard's 1960 film Breathless playing on a backdrop behind Ashley, who strikes a number of poses during the sultry performance of the track. She also goes through a handful of costume changes while Pharrell continues his sartorial ode to Malcolm McLaren's Buffalo Gals, in a white tee accented with glittering chains and the infamous hat that has its own Twitter account. The track includes the usual percussive heat that comes standard on most Pharrell productions. Maxine Ashley's vocal combines with a few well-placed horn stabs to bring this joint home. Check the footage below to watch the official video for "Perpetual Nights from Pharrell and Maxine Ashley. Stay tuned for more from Maxine Ashley.
