Stream The Pharrell-Curated NBA2K15 Soundtrack feat. Lauryn Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, Clipse & More
Pharrell has been charged with the duty of scoring the soundtrack to the perennial king of basketball video kings, none other than NBA 2K15. A series that has seen the likes of Jay Z and Lebron James take those reigns in the last two installments will finally get the GIRL touch. Pharrell tells Billboard:
"I had some people from my staff -- they were all girls and women -- and we just talked about it. I was like, 'I have to do this, [but] I don't know if I'm gonna be able to pull this off, because Jay did it and LeBron.' I'm like, man, how do I follow up those guys? They know so much more about the sport than I do."
While P may not be the league's star player or a partial owner of a franchise, he is inarguably one of the most influential figures in contemporary music. Period. And it'll certainly be interesting to see what the mad-hatter has up his sleeve for the latest episode of the hit video game series.
