Phonte Announces Sophomore Solo Album 'No News Is Good News'
Throughout the last 365, we've seen and heard Phonte in a wide array of formats. He's graced the small screen on VH1's hip-hop coming-of-age flick, The Breaks (which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has been picked to series by the network,) laid down blissful notes with The Foreign Exchange on 2015's stud Tales From The Land Of Milk & Honey LP, even hopped on a few loose cuts for PRhyme and west-coast supergroup, Bad Neighbor.
One thing we haven't gotten out of Phonte since 2011's Charity Starts At Home is a true-blue solo outing. But fear not, faithful Phont-angelists, it appears your boy's got something special planned for the fall. At the top of this week, Phonte shared something of a release schedule with the masses via Twitter; a graphic the plotted out three dates for three separate projects from the The Foreign Exchange crew. First, a solo breakout from producer and multi-instrumentalist, Zo!(and no, I am not that Zo.) Then we'll get a collaborative project from Tigallo and Eric Roberson. But capping off the itinerary, you'll see the announcement of a sophomore solo record, No News Is Good News, slated to arrive on September 30th. Details are still quite skim, but we fully expect that to be amended in the weeks and months to come. Peep the announcement below and hold tight for the next update.
