Prince Begins Vinyl Reissue Campaign With His Debut, 'For You'

Prince has been on (and dominating) the collective consciousness of the music world for damn-near 40-years now. Sit back and let that soak in for a second.

Now that you're feeling properly aged, we'll get down to the business. Starting this April, The Purple One will begin what Modern Vinyl is claiming to be a reissue series, where much of his catalogue will be fit to newly pressed acetate, some for the first time since the 1980s. The campaign begins precisely where Prince did, with the reissue of his 1978 debut For You, which houses the bubbly first-ever single, "Soft And Wet," as well as his cure for the disco monotony, "Just As Long As We're Together." Details are still terribly slim, but we expect a full press release to be arriving in the days ahead. In the meantime, you can pre-order your copy of For You (hopefully on 180 gram vinyl) via Bull Moose ahead of its official April 26th release. Keep your eyes on us for the latest on all things Prince. Never know when or where he'll pop up next (or what he'll have in store for us, for that matter.)
