Prince And Warner Brothers Are Officially Friends Again, 30th Anniversary Reissue Of 'Purple Rain' In The Works
Prince and Warner Brothers are teaming up again, putting past differences behind them in an attempt to bring the purple sage's most seminal pieces back to the world. Announced today, WB and P are set to release a remastered Purple Rain, celebrating his crossover smash's 30th anniversary in a flash of glory. The global licensing partnership -- which covers every album from his 1978 debut to their ugly breakup in the '90s-- also gives Prince ownership of his masters, provides his rocking power quartet 3rdEyeGirl with the label support they need and promises to bring us even more of The Purple Patriarch's immeasurable back catalog to drool over. With his majesty recently securing his own publishing for the first time in 20 years, all signals point to this year being a resurgent one. We'll have more on the impending releases soon, so keep it locked as we illuminate you with that ultraviolet light.
