Public Enemy & The Roots Perform "Public Enemy No. 1" On The Tonight Show
The legendary Public Enemy come through with the posse over force, taking their namesake classic "Public Enemy No. 1" for a spin with some of The Rootscrew in tow on The Tonight Show. It was proper exposition of true-school sentiments with Chuck D and Flav leading the charge of an explosive regime, recruiting Questlove, Frankie Knuckles and Black Thought to join the ranks in the PE army.
The madness didn't stop there, as the duo and their brigade stormed the stage of Brooklyn Bowl immediately following their late-night appearance, drenching BK in that high-voltage funk (at one point Flav even picked up the bass and did his best Bootsy.) The dynamic duo and is also celebrating Def Jam's big three-oh, landing on a commemorative compilation of iconic cuts from the label's storied past forged into one bulging box-set of Golden Era goodies. You can preorder that via the Def Jam shop today, just be ready break the bank a bit, as the box-set runs a cool $140, which pales in comparison to the gaudy $200 price tag of that new Dilla set. Peep the fellas getting wicked on The Tonight Show stage below and keep it locked for all things Chuck & Flav.
