Around these parts, the month of October has a particularly jovial tone to it. It's the month that we celebrate the immeasurable contributions and influence of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. To so many of us, he's meant so much. His catalogue is miles long, and it's still being tapped in 2015 as source material for some the year's most cherished recordings far and wide (most recently on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly.)
