Rapper Big Pooh Cuts It Up With Nottz On Their New Loosie "Memory" ft. Novej

We have it on very good authority that Rapper Big Pooh and Grammy award-winning producer Nottz are getting started on a new album-length project. With such creative and strong individual voices, both men should be able to push each other beyond what once looked like limits, and now a small preview of their synergy has arrived in the form of "Memory." The track is a one-off and reportedly won't appear on the record, but is being served up today as an audio aperitivo of what's to come. The track features guest vocals from North Carolina MC-producer Novej and is in every way a continuation of all three artist's impressive past works.

Novej's beat is what's immediately going to grab you. The beat conductor has chopped up Minnie Riperton's "Memory Lane" with such frenetic violence that to listen is to immediately lose one's cool. And that's okay, because the keys, bass and drum sounds that sweep across "Memory" are tight and punchy, a treat for the ears even as they knock your head to and fro. Over that cool cacophony, Pooh drops bars contemplating the present and past, giving us plenty to identify with even before the first hook comes 'round. "Memory" is already available for purchase over at Bandcamp, and you can listen to it below.
