Ray Angry Presents: From Bowie To Coltrane
Ray Angry Presents: From Bowie to Coltrane, a show billed as “A Modern Love Supreme and everything in between.” The performance slated for April 20th will feature Ray Angry, The Roots' bassist Mark Kelley, Kenneth Whalum on saxophone, Chris Haynes on drums and Jean Baylor (of Zhane) on vocals. The group is scheduled to play The Iridium at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM on Saturday night in New York City. Angry, who also performs with The Roots, has been a presence in the growing community of NYC musicians since his arrival in 2001. He remains a fixture on both the jazz and hip-hop scenes, having recorded with a number of artists - Lauryn Hill, Talib Kweli and Mick Jagger included. This show will not be the first of it's kind for Angry aka Mister Goldfinger.
