Robin Thicke — 'Blurred Lines' [Album Stream]
UPDATE: Robin Thicke's new LP Blurred Lines is now available for streaming in its entirety courtesy of Interscope records...scroll down the find out what rhymes with "hug me."
Just in time to tease you for the Fourth of July weekend, Robin Thicke released album snippets of his upcoming project Blurred Lines, set to release July 15 internationally and July 30 in the U.S. By now, you've probably heard "Blurred Lines" with T.I. and Pharrell and if you liked it, you'll be happy to know that the album sounds full of similarly dance-ready tracks. Some of Thicke's past work has felt much more melancholy and he has been known to fall into that unfortunate R&B singer whining mode, but if these 30-second bites are any indication, he's steering clear of that for Blurred Lines (yay!)
The beginning of the album is full of old-school disco influences and even some funk vibes seem to sneak their way in—all good stuff to hear on the sixth studio effort from the crooner. The final third of the album presents a deliberate slow-down from the uber-upbeat earlier tracks and will be a reprieve for those of you who may miss the more classic Robin. As the third single from the album, Thicke released "Give It 2 U" with a verse from Kendrick Lamar, just one of the many feel-good jams for the late summer. Blurred Lines is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
