Roman GianArthur Talks Musical Influences & Wondaland w/ The Boombox + Performs "I-69" For Live Bytes
Roman Gianarthur recently sat to chop it up with Timmhotep of The Boombox about his musical aesthetic and origins; he cites Stevie Wonder, Radiohead and his father's musical acumen as a few of his major influences. Roman also talks about life as a member of the Wondaland Arts Society - the eclectic and uber-talented Atlanta-based creative collective lead by The Electric Lady herself, Janelle Monae. His interview arrives alongside footage of an amazing in-studio performance of his hit single "I-69", which was recently filmed for the McDonaldsLive Bytes series. His set is the latest to surface from the series, which has featured a handful of rising artists including Jhene Aiko and Mateo. The Live Bytes feature is a great intro for folks unfamiliar with Roman's bottomless talent and electric stage presence ahead of his upcoming performance at Okayplayer's SXSW Showcase. Check the footage below to get a proper taste of Roman Gianarthur ahead of the SXSW Music Festival. Purchase Roman's single "I-69" via iTunes. Stay tuned for more.
