Pass The Popcorn: RZA Claims An Ol' Dirty Bastard Biopic Is "In Motion"

"I think it's a great idea, and there has been talk about it. There are a few wheels in motion with one done by our first cousin Rayshawn; he was the young guy there watching everything that happened"

In a recent interview with Rolling StoneRZA broke the news: a biopic treatment of the weird and wild world of one Ol' Dirty Bastard is apparently in the works. Though details are certainly slim at this point, the Wu-Tang figurehead pointed out that the success of Straight Outta Compton in 2015 opened up the cinematic landscape to even more hip-hop narratives in the future. RZA went on to say that he "...saw a 12-minute teaser that he shot about a year ago and it felt pretty fucking cool," which only scratches the surface of the excitement we the people will feel once we actually have something to put our eyes on.

Now, this is, after all, Hollywood we're talking about here, so nothing's certain until the pen hits the page. But the mere thought of something embodying the rugged and raw rhymer's life and legacy, someone stepping into those shoes, is enough to garner at least a smile. Stay tuned for updates on the Ol' Dirty Bastard biopic in the months to come and hit the link below for the full text.
