Saul Williams To Lead The Broadway Cast Of The Upcoming Tupac Musical
Renowned poet and performance artist Saul Williams will star in the upcoming Broadway production of Holler If Ya Hear Me - the musical based upon the recorded works of the late rapper Tupac Shakur. The play is set to bring the characters and stories in Tupac's music to life in an ensemble performance described as "a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope" set in the inner city. Williams will star alongside Christopher Jackson, John Earl Jelks, Joshua Boone, Dyllon Burnside and Tonya Pinkins in the play presented by author Todd Kreidler, director Kenny Leon and Tupac's mother Afeni Shakur. The show's creative team also includes choreographer Wayne Cilento and musical supervisor Daryl Waters.
