Since its release, Solange's new album has been inspiring all sorts of new takes on its delightfully warm and cathartic frequencies. But it appears Kaytranada's not the only name in the "Cranes In The Sky" remix hat, as Common has shared his own remix of the track, lending an uplifting verse to the song's ethereal, string-adorned opening. The track arrives on the heels of his new Bilalcollaboration "Letter To The Free," the latest single off his much-anticipated new album Black America Again. Hear Common put in work on Solange's "Cranes In The Sky" down below along with a statement on what sparked his contribution. Pre-order your copy of Black America Again on iTunes today.
"Every once and a few years, there are certain songs that come out and have the sound of forever. "Cranes in the Sky" is that song for me. Every time I listened to it, I keep wanting to hear it again and again. I started mumbling some words to it and then decided I want to write a verse. This is an un official remix simply inspired by the love of art."
