Sophia Bastian — "Juvenile Blues" [Official Video] + New EP

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Today, sultry songstress Sophia Bastian releases her Juvenile Blues EP, a project we've been hearing about for about a year now. With production from Itai Shapira of The Decoders and instrumentation from Raymond Angry of The Roots crew, Bastian has put together six tracks of blues-pop goodness for you to enjoy. If this is the first you're hearing from the singer, she sits somewhere between Corinne Bailey Rae and Amy Winehouse with a voice that sounds like it's been dipped in honey—definitely worth checking out. Incorporating everything from Portishead inspirations to classic blues jawns like "Dinner Blues," Bastian brings together a range of sounds to shape a unique style.

To accompany the EP drop, Bastian released the visuals for grown-ass woman anthem "Juvenile Blues" earlier this week. In a strictly no-boys-allowed setting (except for a few grooving musicians in the background), Bastian recounts the perils of dating younger men over a robust blues track. Go 'head Sophia. Check out the ultra-smooth visuals for the single below and get Juvenile Blues on iTunes today.
