Souls Of Mischief is gearing up for an epic resurgence this year, dropping the boom-bap fortified title track off their upcoming wholly Adrian Younge-produced album There Is Only Now, featuring Snoop Dogg. The Blessed Coast kings collide to meld gritty breaks and swirls of polished jazz loops into one soulful and cinematic strut that echoes equal parts Trouble Man and 36 Chambers. Another timeless cut from the masters of distilled funk. We first got a whiff of this dream-team collaboration last year when Younge himself explained the nature of the Ali Shaheed Muhammad narrated score. Yes a score, cause you know how Mr. Younge do.

The much anticipated collaborative project drops as the inaugural release from Younge's newly established imprint Linear Labs on August 26th, as opposed to the RZA-founded Soul Temple Records and is slated to feature appearances from Busta Bust, William Hart and Scarub. The album will drop as a deluxe edition with a a full instrumental companion LP which can be preordered via iTunes today.
