Premiere: Space Captain's Latest Will Keep You "Still" On A Gentle Glide Through A Galaxy Of Sound

Space Captain Share Hypnotic Live In-Session Video

Hailing from the Republic of Brooklyn, hazy-eyed soul ensemble, Space Captainhave put in work in their borough. Lead by vocalist, Maralisa Simmons-Cook, the BK collective's rich blend of avant-r&b, splashed with heavy indie notes, immediately recalls the likes of Dirty Projectors, but with a more subdued, jazz-tinged groove.

In late February, Space Captain released the stud five-track In Memory EP via Tru Thoughts, and today, we have the pleasure of bringing you a lush and lovely live take of the album cut "Still," beamed in from what appears to be a very comfortable corner of the space-time continuum. With Simmons-Cook at its core, the six-piece brings "Still" to life with damn-near a full choir in tow, emitting a hypnotic bloom of harmonies as Simmons-Cook's versatile howl leads the pack on a gentle glide through an entire galaxy of sound. Watch as Space Captain performs "Still" live and direct in the clip below and if you need to brush up on the Brooklyn upstarts, we implore you to head over to iTunes to pick up a copy of In Memory today.
