SZA "Julia" + "Teen Spirit"
SZA's sticking to the script. We haven't heard any new music from the Jersey based emerging talent since the April release of her S EP, and now she returns with two new tracks from her upcoming Z EP. Z will be out this fall, and followed up by, you guessed it, her A EP. But let's not rush from Z to A, SZA comes through today with the two Z tracks "Julia" (produced by Felix Snow and Dave Free) and "Teen Spirit" (produced by WondaGurl). "Julia" is definitely a new sounds from what we've heard from SZA to date with somewhat of an 80s dance sound to it, 'til about the 3 and a half minute mark (I'm guessing this is the segment TDE's Dave Free produced) where it transforms into a slowed down, droning jam (love it). "Teen Spirit," my favorite of the two, brings a more familiar sound from SZA, the labeled "glitter trap" genre fits it well. More SZA soon come.
