Talib Kweli x Miguel - "Come Here"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Proving it is indeed possible to put out dope music and remain politically engaged as a hip-hop artist at the same damn time, Talib Kweli has dropped his latest track, "Come Here" featuring another OKP favorite Miguel, and it is (in the author's opinion) quite swoon-worthy. Over the past few days, Kweli has been publicly (and rightfully) calling out Rick Ross for his controversial lyrics that reference the drugging + raping of a woman - but apparently that hasn't stopped the emcee from showing the hip-hop world there's a better way to treat the ladies. "Come Here" starts off with the R&B crooner's vocals over a (dare I say it) "What's Going On"-era Marvin-esque percussion intro and twinkling keys, trading with Kweli's verses telling his girl the things he would enjoy doing together. It's not a groundbreaking effort, but it is no doubt a smooth one that gets the rap-artist-love-song job done right. Listen to "Come Here" below!
