TDE Tour Is On The Way, Says Top Dawg

TDE members Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q

TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) has multiple artists with individual star power, but many of their fans love them best when they assemble like Voltron to perform and tour together.

Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, TDE's CEO, says that a tour is on the way.

When a Twitter user asked him, "Once everyone drops their album [are] we getting a TDE tour?" To which he simply responded with:

The label has a busy release schedule this year. Kendrick Lamar released untitled unmastered in March, and ScHoolboy Q drops his highly-anticipated Blank Face LP on Friday, July 8. Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad and SZA are slated to drop new albums by the end of the year as well.

If the full roster tours, it would include Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Isaiah Rashad, SZA, new signee Lance Skiiiwalker, and possibly Punch, who works as the label's co-president and also creates music.

Top Dawg also promised "something special" that should be ready next week.

Some fans would say that TDE are at their best when they work together. During their rise to prominence, the members seemed inseparable. Kendrick, Soul, Jay Rock and Q toured on a BET Music Matters tour in the months before good kid, m.A.A.d city released, and they collaborated in inventive ways that referenced each others' songs and characters. To Pimp A Butterfly doesn't have any TDE artists giving guest appearances, but Jay Rock and Punch lent solid cameos to "untitled 05 | 09.21.2014." The whole roster shows up on Jay Rock's album 90059, and Skiiiwalker and SZA both have singing cameos on Blank Face LP. Still, the group has felt a bit more distant since GKMC.

A full TDE tour would be great to see so many great artists at once, and to see the chemistry that made them one of the most formidable crews in rap. Let's hope the tour comes to fruition sooner than later.
