TDE's Top Dawg Says The Label Has Four New Projects On The Way
Kendrick Lamar may be the prize of TDE's roster, but he's certainly not the only one with a few in the chamber. Early this year, SZA's album campaign commenced and halted at once, with the arrival of the standalone single "Drew Barrymore." A release date of February 3rd came and went, and in the months since, her label-mate and frequent collaborator leap-frogged over SZA, announcing his next project with not one, but two new singles and an eye-grabbing video to boot.
Then, in the wake of Kendrick 's "HUMBLE" release, the label's Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, made some remarks on Twitter that just about confirmed another big year from the west coast camp, seemingly promising the release of new albums from SZA, Schoolboy Q and Jay Rock, as well as the rumored Kendrick project.
With only a few more days between us and Kendrick's teased April 7th release date, there's still time on the clock. But if we're to take the TDE chief by his word, there'll be plenty of new sounds from the label in the weeks ahead, beginning this Friday.
Hear Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Part 4" in a special month-in-review edition of The Round-Up below. Hold tight for details on TDE's release schedule to arrive in a more official capacity.
