Tekashi 6ix9ine Faces Prison Time And May Have To Register As A Sex Offender

The Brooklyn rapper pleaded guilty last Saturday. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 47 years in prison, though he could get less for cooperating with the feds.
Tekashi 6ix9ine has pleased guilty to nine criminal counts including gang-related racketeering and firearms charges.

In a report from the Daily Beast, Tekashi pleaded guilty Saturday but court records were still sealed at the time. Prosecutors applied to unseal the documents Thursday and the motion was granted Friday. The charges stem from when the rapper was indicted on racketeering and firearms charges last November.
The indictment alleged that he participated in the shooting of a bystander in Brooklyn in July, as well as the gunpoint robbery of one of his gang's rivals last spring. The gang the indictment is referring to is Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, a gang that was accused of peddling fentanyl and other narcotics and engaging in "brazen acts of violence."
In a separate report from the New York Daily News, Tekashi is also cooperating with the feds, having revealed his involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
"In the fall of 2017, I met and joined the Nine Trey Blood Gang. As a member of Nine Trey, the enterprise engaged in such activities including shooting at people, robbing people, and at times drug trafficking," Tekashi said.
He also said that he "helped members of NineTrey attempt to kill a rival gang member" in March 2018, and helped members of the gang rob a rival the following month.
"I apologize to the Court, to anyone who was hurt, to my family, friends and fans for what I have done and who I have let down," Tekashi said.
Tekashi faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 47 years in prison, though he could get less for his cooperation.
As Rolling Stone has previously reported, Tekashi faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 32 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison in regards to the charges against him.
Previously, three of Tekashi's associates were hit with federal indictments.
The associates are Kintea McKenzie — aka rapper Kooda B — Anthony Ellison, and Denard Butler. According to TMZ, Kooda B is facing charges centered around the attempted shooting of Chicago rapper Chief Keef. (In June last year, Keef was shot at while he was in Times Square.)
According to TMZ, Tekashi is the person to drop Kooda's name to investigators. Kooda was allegedly paid $10,000 to shoot Keef. According to TMZ, Kooda has not yet been arrested. Ellison is in custody for allegedly kidnapping 6ix9ine and Butler was taken in by the ATF on Wednesday (January 30th.) Last month, TMZ got their hands on a video where it seems like 6ix9ine is ordering a hit on Keef, after getting into an argument with Keef’s cousin, rapper Tadoe.
