White Tennessee Man Named Tupac Shakur Arrested On Meth Possession Charges

The Elizabethton, Tennessee resident reportedly pulled a knife on police before being subdued by officers.
A white man named Tupac Shakur was arrested in Tennessee on Saturday. Johnson County police charged Tupac Amaru Shakur — who shares the exact same name as the legendary rapper — with aggravated assault, simple meth possession, and having unlawful drug paraphernalia.
According to the department's release, Shakur was approached by officers while sitting in the passenger seat of a car. When the officers attempted to place him in custody he pulled away, attempting to turn towards them with a knife in hand. After a brief struggle, Shakur was placed in custody, where officers found a syringe and multiple baggies of methamphetamine.

Shakur is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a $18,000 bond. He will be arraigned on Monday afternoon.
