'The Maya Rudolph Show' Is Real, Premieres May 19th
The Maya Rudolph Show is getting scratched off of every SNL stan's wish-list and finally making its way to a screen near you, as gets the green light to premiere May 19th on NBC at 10pm. That's right. The boundlessly talented Maya Rudolph is taking her place amongst the titans of comedy as host and ringleader of what is shaping up to be an epic night of television. The variety show will feature cameos from a deep roster of funny guys and gals, including Andy Samberg, Fred Armisen, Craig Robinson, Kristen Bell and a few others.
What's more, the program will boast a musical ensemble that is suited only for the daughter of late anatomy-defying vocalist Minnie Riperton, featuring Raphael Saadiq as the band director and the funky android Miss Janelle Monáe as the show's inaugural musical performer. While we can't say with any certainty that this is anything more than a one-off, we can say that if this is part of some probationary trial run type ish, they might as well just ink the deal today. Strictly based on the line-up. we're thinking home-run status. So keep your eyes and ears on a swivel for more news on The Maya Rudolph Show, cause it's about to get really real y'all.
