Pharrell and Chad Hugo's production duo The Neptunes seem to be teasing their return on social media.
As DJ Mag reported, social media accounts for The Neptunes popped up on Instagram annd Twitter on Sunday (May 17), with avatars for both accounts featuring an illustration of Pharrell and Hugo. Since then, both have posted cryptic images of a night sky with no captions. These images have been followed up with artwork for a track the pair is doing together with EDM artist Deadmau5.
Earlier this year, Hugo revealed that he and Pharrell had been in the studio with a handful of artists including The Weeknd, Lil Nas X and others.
"We're doing a couple of things," Hugo said in an interview with Clash. "There's a videogame soundtrack that’s in the works right now that I can’t speak about, I’m not supposed to, but uh, it’s in the works right now. We just did some work with Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, Blink 182, Lil Uzi Vert, Brandy, Ray-J, Snoh Alegra, G-Eazy…"
In that same interview, Hugo also revealed that Pharrell is working on a new record, and described it as "real island-like and different."
