So, Big Freedia can turn literally anything into an infectious hit. Although the holiday has already passed, you should definitely check out her Christmas themed EP A Very Big Freedia Christmazz.
But if you want something a little more timely (and still just as amusing) check out this commercial she did, in which she creates a song for a personal injury lawyer.
Titled "Juan LaFonta," the commercial begins seriously with the lawyer, Juan LaFonta, saying "Call me, Juan LaFonta, because I'll fight for you." Clapping can be heard coming from Freedia out of the camera's sight, until the scene transitions to her. "Man, why you look so serious? We gotta bounce this out — remix," yells Freedia as a bounce songs kicks in.
Over a Triggaman loop the songs starts, with Freedia repeating LaFonta's name over and over again. Needless to say, it definitely flips the script on the typical personal injury commercial.
Last year it almost seemed as if Freedia would be facing jail time for defrauding the government, but fortunately that will not be the case. Instead the artist was given three years of probation in addition to paying $35,000 in restitution, where before she faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
