Watch Thundercat, The Gaslamp Killer & More LA Legends In A New Trailer For 'Looking For The Perfect Beat'
Late last year the world got the treat of watching Thundercat, The Gaslamp Killer, TOKiMONSTA and more luminaries from Los Angeles showcase their craft in the documentary Looking For The Perfect Beat. Shot by filmmaker Matthew Smith and produced and released by angeleno Daddy Kev's Alpha Pup Records, the film digs deep into just one single day's creative output amongst the producers, musicians and DJs who are currently making LA the epicenter of forward-thinking beat music. Home studios, massive record dens, and the legendary Low End Theory music gathering that has become a kind of hub of this wild west scene.
Other artists such as Teebs, Baths, Daedelus, Matthewdavid and Ras G also appear in the feature-length film, which despite being a must-see for any fan of hip-hop or electronic music, was never released to the masses--until now. A run of theater screenings in Los Angeles is happening right now, and the entire world will be able to purchase Looking For The Perfect Beat via iTunes starting February 24th. To mark the new widened offering a brand new trailer has been released, in which we catch glimpses of all the beautiful personal moments (and studio gear eye candy) that the documentary has to offer.
