Tink Shares A Hard-Stepping New Video For "Wet Dollars"
Now that Tink has graced the cover of XXL's latest Freshman Class issue, it's a safe bet that many, many new listeners will be waking up to her astonishing talents. And that's unquestionably a good thing, but those truly in the know have been relishing in her bold and consistent blend of electro-infused hip-hop for years already. Fans old and new will find much to enjoy in the Chicago-bred MC's latest video for "Wet Dollars," a clip that takes us on a fancy footwork trip through Brooklyn and bits of Manhattan, down in to subway stations and up onto rooftops. As the clip rolls by we're made aware that no one is safe from the track's infectious beat, and luckily for us everyone on screen has positively brilliant dance moves--meanwhile, Tink catches wreck.
"Wet Dollars" sounds very much like an underground UK house banger, and that makes perfect sense given that the beat was produced by British electro knight DJ Tazer (who himself appears in the video) and has been pummeling stereos on the other side of the Atlantic since its initial release in 2013. Tink's re-up, however, is a captivating one and her version was premiered on the BBC on Monday In an interview with the BBC's MistaJam, Tink admitted "When I first heard the beat I was like 'Wait a minute'...it was nothing like anything I had heard before."
